Where to see cherry blossoms in Seoul?

- South Korea -
From late March to early April, blossom season reliably begins across Asia. I managed to grab some last-minute tickets to Seoul, flew over, and got to admire blooming cherry and plum trees. Here are the spots in the city with the most beautiful views.
1

Gyeongbokgung palace

On the grounds of Seoul’s main landmark, there are plenty of cherry trees in bloom. There’s always a crowd of people hoping to take beautiful photos by them, but once you wait your turn, you’ll get yours too!

Seoul Forest park

A large park made up of several themed areas. The greatest number of flowering trees can be found near the deer enclosure.

Yeouido park

Here you’ll find not only plum and cherry blossoms, but also weeping willows, a pond, and even a monument featuring a Korean Air Force airplane.

Yeouido Hangang park

Located a little further from the main Yeouido Park, along the banks of the Han River. There’s a whole alley lined with plum and cherry trees here — definitely impossible to miss.

For magnolias — head to Gangnam

Not far from Starfield Library, near the entrance to Bongeunsa Station, large white magnolias are in bloom. They’re every bit as beautiful as the cherry blossoms!

The most popular destination during the blooming season remains Japan, although there are many places in Asia that are no less beautiful: Seoul, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Tianjin. Each of them is unique in its own way and certainly deserves attention.
